Reinforced Concrete I
This course discusses properties of reinforced concrete (RC) as structural material with emphasis on emphasis on fundamental behavior for RC structural elements such as beams and one-way slabs in RC building systems. Limit-state design specifications of American Concrete Institute (ACI Committee 318 code) are used to design for strength and serviceability in elements subjected to flexure and shear. Bond, development, and splice length requirements for reinforcement design are also included.
