Capstone Design
The capstone design course is an opportunity for students to demonstrate that they have achieved the learning objectives established by the civil engineering department. It integrates the various skills and learning experiences acquired from courses within the field of civil engineering (Coastal Engineering, Construction Management, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, and Water Resources & Environmental Engineering) to design a project. The tools employed in this project will include design codes & manuals (ACI, AISC, IBC, AASHTO, etc.) in addition to the latest software such as: STAAD-PRO, AutoCAD, PROKON, ADOSS, PCA-COLUMN, PCA-SLAB,
PCA-FOOTING, PLAXIS, GIS, Microsoft Project, Primavera, etc.
Among the seven major disciplines, students shall demonstrate competency in three to four of them
