The Christoforou-Yigit Characterization Diagram for Impact in Structures
Location:

Seminar
Presenter(s):
Prof. Andreas Christoforou
Mechanical Engineering Department
Professor Andreas has been a faculty member in our department since 1989. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah. He has 40 years of research experience in the area of composite materials and structures.
He and his colleagues at Kuwait University have developed useful models for impact dynamics and damage in composite structures, and oil-well drill-string dynamics. Of note, it is the novel characterization procedure for a priori knowledge of impact dynamics response, which is our topic for this day.
