ChE 491 Plant Design

The Plant Design course at the Chemical Engineering Department offers a comprehensive learning experience that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application. Students will gain valuable insights into the design and optimization of chemical plants, learning to balance efficiency, safety, and environmental considerations. Through hands-on projects and industry-standard software tools, participants will master key concepts such as process simulation, equipment sizing, economic analysis, and project management. Guided by experienced faculty and enriched by real-world case studies, this course equips students with the skills needed to excel in their careers as a team of process engineers, plant designers, and project managers.

Students are expected to organize into teams of 3-4 students per group.
